New: Novlr NaNoWriMo Integration

This week saw us launch something brand new to the platform – Novlr NaNoWriMo integration. This allows you to sync your novel in the Novlr app automatically with your NaNoWriMo project.

For those new to National Novel Writing Month, it is a project that began ten years ago where hundreds of thousands of writers across the globe attempt to write a new novel of 50,000 words in the month of November. (Read more about NaNoWriMo and how to prepare in this earlier post.)

We know how big a month November is for many of you and so have made it easier than ever to do NaNoWriMo in Novlr. You select which novel to sync and word counts will be updated automatically every day at midnight, or you can force sync anytime with the click of a button.

The Novlr NaNoWriMo integration

From November 1st you will see the button “Sync to NaNoWriMo” clickable in your integrations tab. You need to make sure you have created a November 2020 project in NaNoWriMo before you can sync with it.

Once you click the Sync button you will be asked to authenticate your NaNoWriMo login details (these details are never stored on our server – it is authenticated directly with NaNoWriMo and a unique token stored on our server).

Once you have authenticated and selected which of your Novlr projects you want to sync with your NaNoWriMo 2020 project, you’re all set!

Then, every 24 hours your work will sync with NaNoWriMo, or you can click “Force sync now” whenever you like. Each sync will update your NaNo word count to the new word count of the chosen novel.

One less thing to do for NaNoWriMo. More time saved for your writing 🙂
